Finally, She Sits Down

With her elegant crystal-covered bun, one arm resting across her body and her other hand gently supporting her face, this little fairy looks as though she has finally stopped for a moment.

When I look at her, I see a mum at Christmas. She has worked all year, organised everything, remembered everything and probably spent most of Christmas Day making sure everyone else was happy. And then, finally, she sits down. She looks at her family gathered around the Christmas tree and thinks how incredibly lucky she is to have them.

Perhaps the year wasn’t perfect. Perhaps Christmas Day wasn’t either. But for this one little moment, none of that matters. The people she loves are there, together, and she can simply sit back and take it all in.

There is only one exactly like her. I create every little Christmas fairy individually, so her dress, hair and tiny details will never be repeated in quite the same way.

She would make a particularly lovely Christmas or Secret Santa gift for a mum who spends so much of Christmas making it special for everybody else.
